We're excited to announce that The Nude Life is officially sponsoring La Furiosa Race, a hybrid team competition that's bringing pure grit, sweat, and community spirit to Palafrugell in 2027. If you've been looking for a reason to team up with a training partner and push your limits, this is it.
What Is La Furiosa Race?
La Furiosa Race is a hybrid team competition raced in pairs, built to be accessible for everyone — not just seasoned athletes. It combines resistance, strength, and what the organizers simply call "moving heavy stuff," across a course designed to test how well you and your partner can work as a team under fatigue.
The event's own tagline says it best: run, push, load, pull, and survive — together.
How the Competition Works
Every team races through 5 back-to-back events, with 10 minutes of work followed by 10 minutes of rest between each one, all inside a total 90-minute competition window. Standings update on a live leaderboard throughout the day, so you'll always know where your team stands.
- Event 1 – Run + Sandbag Carry: a 400m run together followed by 100m sandbag carry relays, AMRAP in 10 minutes.
- Event 2 – Wheelbarrow + Heavy Bags: wheelbarrow carries and heavy bag transport, repeated AMRAP-style for 10 minutes.
- Event 3 – Row + Bike: max calories in 10 minutes across the rower and bike — full send.
- Event 4 – Pig Flip + Lunges: a brutal combo built to test how well you survive fatigue as a team.
- Event 5 – Sled Drag + Pull: the final event — max meters on the sled while your legs are already spent.
The scoring rewards well-rounded teams: expect the biggest gains from strong VO2 max, stamina, and yes — fun, with strength playing a supporting role rather than being the whole game.
Who Can Compete
Teams of two can register in any of three categories:
- Male / Male
- Male / Female
- Female / Female
Whether you're training partners, siblings, or just found your perfect teammate, there's a category for you.
Where and When
La Furiosa Race takes place on May 8–9, 2027, from 9:00 to 21:00, at the Área d'Esports, Ajuntament de Palafrugell, in Palafrugell, Girona (Spain). Each heat is completed within the 90-minute competition window, so there's plenty of action to watch throughout both days.
